About.

Meet Travis Swope.

My career has led me to specialize in managing and developing successful business operations related to the Pest Management Industry.  Born and raised in a pest control business, I have extensive experience in strategic forward-planning; operating within tight financial disciplines and implementing budgets which I have helped to plan; methodical administration to deadlines (not to mention crisis management where necessary); and the application of modern leadership methods (through staff motivation and involvement in both decision-making and target-setting, clarity in communication, and personal inter-relations).  My upbringing and analytical interests in other cultures leave me confident in handling negotiations that require the reconciliation of different approaches to otherwise common problems. I have a particular concentration and focus on California and National legislative issues, as well as environmental protection and sustainability. Since 2018 I have launched and continue to develop business in South Africa related to the protection and storage of food for safe consumption and trade. My goal is to expand into Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi in the coming years. When I’m not working, I can be found on the mats developing my skills in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. My wife Megan and I have been married for 12 years (together for 15) and have two beautiful children. Our daughter Bizzie is 8 and our son Bennett is 6. They are my world.

Professionally, I help people because it’s the right thing to do and it further advances my aim. I am striving to reach my full potential. I define that as, how far I can go, and how many people I can take with me. Back in 2001, I read Jim Collins book Good to Great as I’m sure many of you did too. Of the numerous pages of notes I still have from that book, the idea that still moves me today is, first who…then what. It’s my North Star. Bringing the right people into an organization and putting them in the right seats has changed my career. I empower people to fully develop their skills, encourage them to take risks, and apply their individuality and humanness to their arsenal.

Through effective listening and genuine curiosity, I have developed a unique brand of leadership that emphasizes personal growth, creates positive opportunistic conditions, and builds solution-based teams. Throughout my career, I have championed and promoted dozens of individuals by allowing them total ownership of projects, access to tools, data, and support, and have spotlighted their wins to other high-level executives so they can shine. I work with teams, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to develop comprehensive strategies to take their ideas to the next level. Through hands on training, Team building programs, and speaking engagements, I share my personal brand and ideas that have allowed me a 30 year career in a field I love.

Pest control has been my life and it’s how I feed my family. I love talking to people about what I do for a living and I am always proud when people thank me for my small part in safeguarding them from pests. Today, I help protect people, property, and the food supply. We do that by providing the necessary tools of today’s advanced chemistries to pest control contractors and food processors. We are a valuable part of global trade and a barrier to quarantine pests. We contribute to a sustainable food supply and help reduce food insecurities around the world. We protect structures from wood-destroying pests to preserve housing affordability. What we do is important. This is why I do what I do.
